An easy lunch alternative – a falafel burger!
Sometimes you just have to have an easy alternative as a meal option.
I like to make dishes from scratch but making your own falafel burgers is not an easy and fast process. I have done it and I know that you can make a batch that will last you for several days but as I said, sometimes you just need an easy alternative.
I found that alternative in the freezer section. The organic Sunshine Falafel Burgers are using the same ingredients that I would use and they are already fully cooked and browned. All you have to do is heat them up.
Falafel Burger
An easy lunch alternative – a falafel burger!
Ingredients
- 1 falafel burger Organic Sunshine Burgers
- 1 whole grain bun Sprouted Grain Burger Buns - Ezekiel 4:9
- 1 tbsp ketchup Organic Tomato Ketchup - Woodstock
- 1 cilantro
Instructions
- Toast the bun. I keep my Ezekiel burger buns in the freezer and I just toast them when I need them.
- Heat the falafel
- There are several different ways to heat your falafel but my favorite is the microwave: wrap the frozen burger in a paper towel, place on a microwave save dish and heat on high for 60 - 70 seconds.
- Add the falafel to the bun and garnish with some cilantro, tomato or cucumber.
Notes
The garnish could be anything. I have used hummus and I have added some of my chopped veggies that I had made the day before for a salad - be creative and add what you like and that tastes good to you.
