B
rowned Brussels Sprouts with grapes and Walnuts.
It took me a while to make a Brussels Sprout dish that my wife would actually eat. I do not think she will ever jump up-and-down to have me make Brussels Sprouts but she will eat this dish when I make it. I think it is the sweetness of the grapes and the balsamic vinegar that provides her with a flavor profile that is more palatable to her.
Try it and see (…taste) for yourself!
Browned Brussels Sprouts with Grapes and Walnuts
Not everyone likes Brussels sprouts. But try this recipe, the grapes and walnut might do the trick 🙂
Ingredients
- 8 cups brussels sprouts
- 8 cups grapes pitted if they have pits
- 2 tbsp thyme
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 0.5 cup walnuts toasted and coarsely chopped
- 1 dash sea salt
- 1 dash black pepper
Instructions
- Blanch the brussels sprouts.
- In a deep 12" skillet add the blanched and drained Brussels sprouts and toss to coat. Add thyme plus some salt & pepper to taste.
- Roast until caramelized and tender (about 20 minutes) and add in the grapes, walnuts and drizzle the vinegar over the dish.
- Heat for another 5 minutes.
Notes
You can also make this in the oven. Put the Brussels sprouts on a rimmed baking sheet (for this amount probably two to evenly distribute the sprouts).
