Instructions
Wash the potatoes and broccoli
Cut both the broccoli and potatoes in smaller pieces and boil for about 4 to 5 minutes. I keep both the stem of the broccoli and the skin of the potatoes. It all goes into the blender and these are nutritious parts! (potatoes will take a few minutes extra to cook).
Cut the onion and jalapeño pepper (again it doesn't have to be small because everything will go into the blender later).
Sauté onions, garlic in a large skillet until soft but not brown (5 mins). After a few minutes add the jalapeño pepper. When done add everything into the blender. When you dry sauté the onions make sure to add some veggie broth or water when the onions start to stick or burn.
After finished steaming the broccoli and potatoes, keep three cups of the cooking water and put the broccoli and potatoes also into the blender.
Now put all remaining ingredients (plus as much of the three cups of water to get the right consistency) into a blender and blend until smooth. Add some salt if needed.
