It is ok to feel like you want to quit.  Honor that feeling and do not beat yourself up.  Here are a few suggestions for when the going gets tough:

  • Make one of the  smoothies, soups, or juices
  • Try some gentle exercise or breathwork to oxygenate and alkalize your blood
  • Drink some more water
  • Finally, if you are still feeling stuck have a snack from the list below

Be proud of yourself for participating in this detox and be kind to your body, both physically and emotionally.  You are doing an amazing thing for yourself even just by reading this site.  This is a journey towards vibrant and sustainable health.  Try to find a playful spirit in exploring the challenges that come up and learning more about yourself.

The core premise of this 21 day “Eat Lean, Get Clean” detox program is about adding more beautiful, healing, plant-based foods into your everyday life.  We highly recommend you listen to your body and make sure you are not depriving yourself.

Suggested serving sizes of the juices, smoothies, soups and dishes are merely a guide.  We encourage you to adjust your intake based on the varying nature of your individual needs and preferences.  If you are finding that the serving sizes are not enough, then feel free to increase the amount so that you are not left feeling hungry.  After all, this detox is about nourishing and cleansing, not deprivation or restriction.

If during the first week you find that you just want to ‘chew’ on something or during the entire program you still feel the need for something else to feel satiated, we have come up with a list of snacks which we highly recommend you consider.

  • Vegetable sticks (e.g. celery, carrot, cucumbers, bell peppers, green beans)
  • Pickles, sauerkraut or any other fermented vegetables
  • Low sugar fruits like avocados, grapefruits and fresh or frozen berries.
  • Miso soup with mushrooms and some green vegetables
  • Any fresh fruits or vegetables that you have around!
